In today's scenario Information Technology(IT) is the one of the major areas that is covering all over the world. So to have all the basic details of IT, Government is trying to provide facilities or can say doing contribution for spreading IT..Government has laid down many institutions that provide infrastructure for IT such as a govt. project named VSNL that provides Internet facilities around the world and STPI is a software technology park is a govt. agency which is developed for export oriented scheme ..
Govt. also provides portal called NIC for the development and designing of various IT schemes...
Various IT related courses are added in the syllabus of high class institutions like IIM , IIT, IIIT etc...
Govt. is also trying to reduce the export and import fares so that IT products can be easily sent and received around the world..It has made the custom duty low for the software exports..
Govt. is also trying to provide knowledge in the rural areas also..
So i can say that govt. is contributing to IT through many institutions around the world...
